Going away on a little journey is exciting. New lands, new backdrops, and a whole new sensation of possibility.
A journey needs a little planning, too. You need to know where you’re going, how to get there, and what places you might want to stop in between, for lunch maybe, or to see the sights.
Most people would use the internet to plan their trip ahead, probably resorting to Google Maps for a little help, or their trusty sat-nav. The blockchain era has heralded the arrival of new technology that can be applied to a number of industry fields, and travel is no exception.
GoneTrippin is a new ICO that introduces a blockchain-based ecosystem which
connects vendors with users, so that the latter can get the best experience while traveling to their destinations.

GoneTrippin defines itself as a ‘road trip company’, whose purpose is to enrich a user’s journey by enabling the discovery of businesses, sights, landmarks, and local attractions along the chosen path.
In essence, GoneTrippin connects small businesses (food providers, accommodation premises, tour operators, etc.) with users. Using an app, the traveler (‘user’) will have access to a wide range of services along their planned route.
According to its marketing blurb, both groups (providers and users) are looking for
each other, and GoneTrippin brings them together.
The platform itself is the supporting asset upon which the GoneTrippin proposition stands. The nexus for providers and users is a smartphone app, which will be available on Android, iOS, and web.

The ICO offers a service called GoneTrippin TV, which acts as a companion to the
app. This service highlights local services such as food providers, lodgings, etc.

Competition
Smart Trip Platform is probably the most direct competitor for GoneTrippin, as both ICOs offer similar services.
There are other travel-based ICOs out there, but few are dedicated to the illustration of local landmarks and businesses to enhance a traveler’s journey experience.
From this standpoint, GoneTrippin does offer a good value proposition.
Consult the GoneTrippin Whitepaper for more information about the platform, additional features and services, etc.

Conclusion
Taking a journey into the wild outdoors, whether on your car, your bike, or the train, is an exciting proposition. The sheer sense of novelty and possibility alone is worth the ticket price.
Still, planning inevitably does come into the picture when thinking about a trip abroad, or the next county, and GoneTrippin may just be the solution.
While the idea is neat (particularly the GoneTrippin TV feature), success will hinge on how comprehensive the database is, how easy it is to find stuff, and how many businesses agree to collaborate on this project.
We’ll revisit GoneTrippin’s progress in due course.
