CryptoCoin.News has acquired InvestItIn to expand its publishing arm into investment news. We speak with InvestItIn founder Jim Reynolds to understand better about the business and how it can inform people looking to invest across different markets.
Tell me about InvestItIn.com – what it does and when it was founded?
Investitin.com was launched because I wanted to organize my investment and personal finance ideas in one place. I thought a blog would provide the discipline to keep researching and looking for investment ideas.
You are the founder and main contributor – how did you came to found the site?
InvestItIn.com was launched after much encouragement from a good friend of mine. We discussed investment ideas and personal finance regularly. However, it was difficult to keep track of all the ideas we discussed and analyzed. He thought that a blog would be something that a particular audience would come to appreciate and he was right.
What kind of reader do you have – can you profile them for me?
I encouraged the readers of InvestItIn.com to be curious, savvy and always to take care of their own due diligence. I expected the readers of the site to scrutinize every piece of information presented on InvestItIn.com.
Readers came to InvestItIn.com to be inspired. I presented all the investment ideas for free to the readers, and I did not charge the companies I interviewed. The advice, therefore, is independent and neutral.
Tell me about the most unusual investment opportunity you have covered?
One of the most unusual ones was the Valhalla Project, where you get to prepay your evacuation from a disaster situation.
How do you stay profitable?
To stay profitable, you need to do two things – always:
- Take out your initial investment
- Diversify
How do you evaluate an investment?
The first thing I always check is if the investment was regulated or not. Unregulated investments are controlled by the issuing investment firms; regulated investments have clear obligations to the investors.
ICOs in particulate are very difficult to evaluate because of their high-risk profile and difficulty in analyzing them due to the nature and structure of the information they provide.
What is master mode investing?
Masternodes are a critical part of certain DAOs and crypto projects. They facilitate the network and governance systems, by incentivizing a community of investors to set up network nodes and vote for proposals. Unfortunately, there are many quasi or outright scams of masternodes projects.

Those who are considering this investment should be careful of the promise of infinite passive income. Personally, I think the most promising masternodes to be: Origin trail, Walton chain, Ve CHain, Dash, Pivx, Exscudo, BosCoin and MUE.
What brought you to crytpo investing, and how risky is it?
I became interested in crypto investing because of the returns, the tech and what they could offer to society.
There are some crypto projects that will still be around in ten years’ time, and these are the gems, but it can be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
The tech offers a transparent way to govern the finances of society, although as of now we are very far off from adopting any protocols which aid in the separation of state and money.
The main risk of crypto investing remains a regulatory one. The uncertainty about the final relationship between governments and tokens is what makes the market so sensitive to rumor and gossip on the topic.

Investitin.com started as a little side project of documenting my investment ideas. It snowballed into something much bigger that required more of my time and energy, something which I cannot afford.
I had to make the very hard decision to pass the reins of InvestItIn.com to the crew of CryptoCoin.News. I’m sure they will continue building InvestItIn.com into one of the premium investment sites.
