Italian premium sports car brand Ferrari strikes a multi-year deal with blockchain firm Velas to launch exclusive digital content for Scuderia fans.

As the partnership unfolds, Velas will be featured on Ferrari’s iconic racing cars at Formula 1, drawing traction to the emerging blockchain community. Velas will also be the title sponsor of the Ferrari Esports Series, the online mono-brand series of the Prancing Horse, and of the Esports team that will compete in the F1 Esports Series.

The year 2021 saw many global brands embrace the crypto craze that was catalyzed by NFTs and the metaverse. More than a marketing gimmick, crypto adoption is deemed inevitable for brands in the coming phases. From fintech to fashion, apparel, media, and food & beverage, companies from across sectors are vying to onboard the technology.

The first-of-its-kind partnership for Ferrari will launch multiple shared initiatives that are designed to raise its prominence as a global motorsport manufacturer. Assumedly, one of the key goals is to penetrate a new fan base that believes in the decentralized movement.

Velas blockchain is touted as a potential Ethereum killer. The Solana fork embedded with EVM integration has earned a huge community in the crypto space for its speed and performance. Home to many leading projects and dApps in the crypto space, Velas has brought an “innovative variety of pioneering technology into the blockchain and associated products”.

According to announcements from Ferrari, that is also the reason why the brand has opted to join with Velas in its journey to the crypto world.

“We are pleased to start this collaboration with Velas Network AG, a company that makes innovation and performance the hallmark of technologically advanced products and services: these are all values that unite us and that led us to choose Velas as one of our Premium Partner,” says Mattia Binotto, General Manager and Team Principal, Scuderia Ferrari.
