It’s been reported on Verge’s (XVG) Twitter account that their mining pools suffered a DDOS attack, resulting in a significant delay in their blocks. Although, it was later reported by users that the episode was more serious. Apparently, certain bugs in the code allowed the attackers to obtain $1,000 in XVG for every minute that the hack took place. It seems this bug was quite similar to the one uncovered last month, which involved hackers manipulating the transactions that are recorded during the mining process. As a result of this, millions of XVG were created from nowhere in a matter of hours. Recently Verge was favourably linked to the popular porn site Pornhub, but it now appears that the cryptocurrency is on a downward path with this new hacking episode.
